Chicago Excels on Senior Day With Wins Over DePauw and Trinity

The No. 10-ranked University of Chicago swimming and diving team recognized its senior athletes before Saturday's meet and then delivered team victories against DePauw University and Trinity (Texas) University.

It was Senior Day at the Myers-McLoraine Pool for UChicago seniors – Sofia Gross and Jennifer Hill. In the tri-meet scoring, the Maroons defeated Trinity 206-89 and DePauw 197-103.

The Maroons won nine races. Hill was part of four wins herself with two individual and two relay victories. She also swept the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.11) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.84). The 400-yard freestyle relay won in a time of 3:34.57 and included Hill and a trio of sophomores – Maya Scheidl, Jessie Ho and Alison Wall. The 200-yard medley relay's winning time of 1:49.27 was provided by Hill, Scheidl, freshman Melissa Bischoff and sophomore Abby Erdmann. Scheidl had the closest win of the day, as her 100-yard freestyle time of 53.73 edged out the competition by 0.09 seconds.
