Emory Defeats Division II Florida Southern

The Emory University women's swimming team returned to action following the holiday break on Friday evening to a 167-78 decision over Division II member Florida Southern. 

The Eagles coasted to the win by securing 10 first place finishes out of the 13 events. Emory was led by sophomore Rebecca Upton who led the team with three individual victories. Upton touched first in the 1,000 Freestyle (10:25.33), the 200 Butterfly (2:09.26) and the 500 Freestyle (5:05.69).

Also earning first place wins for the Eagles were sophomore Cindy Cheng in the 100 Backstroke (57.71), freshman Fiona Muir in the 100 Butterfly (58.04), sophomore Julia Wawer in the 200 Freestyle (1:53.92), junior Annelise Kowalsky in the 200 IM (2:09.09), senior Ellie Thompson in the 200 Backstroke (2:06.44), freshman Ashley Danielsin the 200 Breaststroke (2:24.72) and the 400 Freestyle Relay team comprised of junior Marissa Bergh, Wawer, Muir and junior Claire Liu (3:32.68).
