From Emory University Athletics

The Emory University swimming & diving teams combined to record another seven event championships, two UAA meet records and 17 All-UAA honors to bring their three day total to 31.

Following three days of action both the men and women remain on top of the team standings. For the women, they extended their lead to 409 with a three day total of 1,349 points. In second place sits Chicago (940), Washington (890.5), NYU (857.5), Carnegie Mellon (684), Rochester (438), Case Western Reserve (426) and Brandeis (245).

Emory's men's lead is sizably smaller as the Eagles are in front by just 99.5 with 1,096.5 points entering Saturday. Washington still is in second at 967 points with NYU (869.5), Chicago (863), Carnegie Mellon (641), Case Western Reserve (569), Rochester (476) and Brandeis (215) in tow.

The women's team took home another six event championships on Friday night, winning all but two women's events on the evening. The 200 Medley Relay team of senior Ellie Thompson, senior Elizabeth Aronoff, sophomore Megan Campbell and freshman Fiona Muir touched with a time of 1:43.79 to lead things off on the evening. Sophomore Phoebe Edwards followed winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:24.20. Campbell took gold in the 100 Butterfly, swimming a time of 55.20. Sophomore Cindy Cheng placed first in the 200 Freestyle with a UAA record-setting time of 1:49.59. Aronoff then finished first in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:05.08. The 800 Freestyle Relay team of Cheng, freshman Meg Taylor, freshman Ava Salmi and senior Carolyn Bonfield finished things off, taking first place with a UAA record-setting mark of 7:28.54.

Other All-UAA honorees for the women included sophomore Rebecca Upton in the 400 IM (2^nd, 4:26.39), Muir in the 100 Fly (2^nd, 55.25), Taylor in the 200 Free (3^rd, 1:52.44), freshman Ashley Daniels in the 100 Breast (3^rd, 1:04.08), junior Claire Liu in the 100 Back (2^nd, 56.33) and sophomore diver Mara Rosenstock in the 3-meter event (2^nd, 435.85 points).

Sophomore Chandler Lichtefeld claimed the lone event championship for the Emory men for the second straight night as he won the 400 IM with a time of 3:58.53.

Adding All-UAA honors for the Eagles on the men's side were the 200 Medley Relay team of junior Mitchell Cooper, sophomore Cooper Tollen, junior Christian Baker and sophomore Alexander Hardwick (3^rd, 1:30.86), Cooper (2^nd, 50.04) and freshman Zachary Chen (3^rd, 50.97) in the 100 Backstroke and the 800 Freestyle Relay team of Baker, freshman Alex Kohlman, Cooper and junior Hayes Burdette-Sapp who took third in the event, touching at 6:45.61.

The Emory University men's and women's swimming & diving programs will both look to capture their 18^th consecutive UAA title on Saturday night at the Webster Aquatic Center in upstate New York. The events on the final day include the 1,650 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, the 400 Freestyle Relay and the men's 1-meter diving event.
