Six members of the New York University women's swimming team competed during Thursday evening's session of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, which are being held on Wednesday-Saturday, March 16-19, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC.

The Violets are currently in ninth place with 81 points, trailing leaders Emory University, who have 270 points.

NYU was represented on Thursday night by a pair of relay teams. The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of sophomore Isabelle Kitze, freshman Noel Leung, freshman Sarah Stone, and junior captain Elise Gibbs captured fourth place with a time of 1:33.78.

"The 200-yard freestyle relay team came out on fire tonight," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "To place fourth in the nation is outstanding. I am really proud of their effort."

Leung and Gibbs then teamed up with freshman May Li and sophomore Serena Yan to place eighth in the 400-yard medley relay (3:49.70).
