New York University's women's swimming & diving team defeated host Vassar College 173-122 in a dual meet on Saturday, November 21, in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Freshman Noel Leung took first in the 100-yard freestyle (54.09) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.77). She also anchored the winning 200-yard medley relay team, which also included junior Elise Gibbs, freshman May Li and sophomore Serena Yan.

"The team put forth a great effort today," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "It was fantastic to see some exciting races."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Li also won the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.95).

- Gibbs was victorious in the 200-yard IM (2:11.05) and the 50-yard freestyle (24.61), finishing just ahead of teammate Sarah Stone (25.41).

- Freshman Kelly Ryser took first in the one-meter diving competition (279.65), while junior Nia Sorgente eclipsed her own NYU record en route to a victory in the three-meter (311.85). Both divers recorded NCAA National qualifying scores. Sophomore Austin Campitelli also recorded a national qualifying score of 262.85 in the one-meter.

"Everyone competed really well today," said Diving Coach Scott Donie. "It's a great accomplishment to have three divers qualified for the NCAA zone meet this early in the season. I'm looking forward to getting back to work as we prepare for the MIT Invitational."
