From University of Chicago Athletics
The University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team emerged with a pair of team victories over DePauw University and Calvin College in Saturday's tri-meet hosted by DePauw.
On the women's half, UChicago defeated DePauw 162-80 and Calvin 180-63. The Maroons dominated the afternoon with nine event victories. Junior Maya Scheidl led the way with three wins. She swept the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles in times of 53.63 and 1:55.10. She was also part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay that finished in 3:36.85. Junior Alison Wall and freshman Christina Cheng both captured one victory each in individual and relay events. Wall took the 200-yard IM in 2:10.46 and was also part of the 400-yard freestyle relay. Cheng placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.47) and swam the second leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:49.00). Freshman Naomy Grand'Pierre swam legs on both relays to garner two wins herself.
Additionally, freshman Anna Girlich won the three-meter dive as well (273.80).
