Two School Records Fall For Chicago swimming at NCAA Championships

From University of Chicago Athletics

The University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team added to its All-American haul and set two new school records in the process at the second day of the NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday.

The school records came courtesy of junior sisters Alison Wall and Megan Wall. Alison broke the 200-yard freestyle record in the prelims at 1:50.70. Then in the evening's final, Alison outdid herself nearly a full second as she took ninth in 1:49.71. Megan put up a new school record in the 400-yard IM, which she swam in 4:26.43 to finish 11th.

With the Walls providing two All-American performances, UChicago's women put together two more for a nightly total of four. In the same 400-yard IM final, senior Ciara Hu finished 13th with a mark of 4:27.71. The All-American 400-yard medley relay placed 15th in 3:50.66. The mark was achieved by the quartet of sophomore Melissa Bischoff, freshman Christina Cheng, freshman Daria Wick and junior Maya Scheidl.
