The Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming team won 12 events en route to a 180.5-102.5 win over NCAA Division I Western Illinois University in the final dual meet of the season.
Senior Sophie Gan and sophomore Nicole Zanolli were each part of three first-place finishes for the WashU women. Zanolli clocked a season-best time of 2:08.54 to win the 200 backstroke ahead of senior teammate Kristalyn McAfee (2:15.27), and added a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.65. Gan finished first in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.49) and the 200 IM (2:14.72), while senior Katie Anderson was second in the 200 IM in 2:16.40. Zanolli, Gan and Anderson also teamed with junior Lauren Carlos to win the 200-medley relay in 1:52.25.
Freshman Lauren Sapp (1:58.43) and sophomore Alissa Ling (2:01.03) were the top-two finishers in the 200 free for the WashU women. Ling added a first-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:18.32, while freshman Emily Mansour (5:23.79) and Sapp (5:29.88) were second and third, respectively. Mansour tied for first in the 50 free in 26.06. Sapp, Mansour and McAfee also teamed with junior MariMac Collins to win the 400-free relay (3:40.74). Collins added a first-place finish in the 1,000 free (10:58.83).
Senior Amanda Stadermann won the women's 200 fly in 2:10.97, and was second in the 100 free in 55.91. Sophomore Niamh O'Grady won the 100 free with a time of 55.55.
