From Washington University Athletics

The Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming team won the team title at the Wheaton Invitational Friday-Saturday.

The WashU women won 12 events to score 1,171 team points at the meet, winning the team championship over host Wheaton College (658). 

Two individuals set school records for the WashU women at the meet. Senior Katie Anderson clocked a B-cut time of 2:01.79 in the 200 backstroke prelims to break a seven-year-old school record set by Meredith Nordbrock (2:01.97) in 2008. Anderson placed first in the championship final of the event in 2:03.78.

Senior Amanda Stadermann broke her own record in the 200 butterfly with a B-cut time of 2:03.42 in the prelims. She led a 1-2-3 sweep for the Bears in the championship final with a time of 2:04.60. Senior Toireasa Rafferty-Millett also had a B-cut of 2:06.82 in the prelims, before finishing second in the finals with a time of 2:08.57. Junior Lauren Carlos was third in 2:08.87.

Anderson, senior Sophie Gan, Carlos and junior MariMac Collins teamed up to break their own record in the 200-medley relay with a winning B-cut time of 1:45.48.
