CWRU Defeats Wooster

The Case Western Reserve University women's swimming and diving team claimed a 163-79 victory over the College of Wooster on Friday night in the Veale Natatorium.

The women picked up wins in both relays on Friday night, with sophomore Bhavya Kumaran, freshman Monica Khare, sophomore Allie Drohosky and junior Inez Moore finishing first in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:07.86, and Moore, sophomore Kelsey Holmberg, freshman Rhiannon Reeseand junior Jennifer Eurich winning the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:44.65.

Moore added a victory in the 100-yard freestyle with a career-best time of 54.31, while Eurich won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.45. Other individual wins by the Spartan women on Friday night came from freshman Sienna Picchione in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:02.94), freshman Julia Ver Voort in the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.66), sophomore Casey Crowley in the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.39) and freshman Sarah Taekman in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.12).

Junior Brooke Hortness came away with wins in both women's diving events, registering scores of 195.05 in the one-meter dive and 201.15 in the three-meter dive.
