Naomy Grand’Pierre of Chicago Set to Compete at FINA World Swimming Championships

University of Chicago women's swimmer Naomy Grand'Pierre returns to the international stage next week when she competes at the Fina World Swimming Championships (25m).

Grand'Pierre is in her sophomore season competing for the UChicago swimming and diving team. This past summer, she represented Haiti at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Grand'Pierre is slated to swim for Haiti again in the short course (25-meter) world championships.

The six-day Fina World Swimming Championships will be hosted in Windsor, Ontario, Canada from December 6-11. The bi-annual event was created in 1993 and features nearly 1,000 swimmers from 172 countries. A total of 46 events will take place in the 13th edition of the short course world championships.

Grand'Pierre is scheduled to compete in the 50-meter breaststroke on Tuesday, Dec. 6, followed by the 100-meter breaststroke on Friday, Dec. 9.
