From University of Chicago Athletics
The University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team compiled finished first in a home quad meet with Wheaton College, Boston College and Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday. It marked the Maroons' first win over an NCAA Division I team since UChicago became an NCAA Division III school.
Freshman Audrey Mason was a dual individual winner in the 500-yard freestyle (5:17.60) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:45.26). She won the 1,000 freestyle by more than 21 seconds. Senior Maya Scheidl won the 100-yard freestyle (53.26) and was also part of the first place 400-yard medley relay (4:00.17) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:36.13). Senior Alison Wall swam legs on both relays as well.
In the diving events, sophomore Anna Girlich achieved NCAA zone qualifying scores on both the one-meter (2nd, 255.20) and three-meter (1st, 267.15) boards. Freshman Agnes Lo recorded an NCAA zone qualifying score on the one-meter board with a winning score of 263.25.
