From University of Chicago Athletics
The University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team celebrated its outgoing senior class and turned in dominating performances as hosts of a tri-meet with DePauw University and Calvin College on Saturday afternoon.
The Maroons defeated DePauw 231-64 and Calvin 225-75.
At the start of Senior Day before the races began, UChicago recognized its seven senior women and three senior men. The senior class includes Abby Erdmann, Jessie Ho, Emily Hunt, Cara LoPiano, Maya Scheidl, Alison Wall, Megan Wall, Kevin Ku, Rolland Lee and Jonathan Simoneau. Those 10 swimmers have accounted for 19 school records between them.
Scheidl won all four races she competed in – the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Erdmann triumphed in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard butterfly and as part of the 200-yard medley relay.
Additionally, sophomore diver Anna Girlich achieved a personal best and NCAA provisional score on the one-meter board, taking second place with 268.55 points.
