Maroons in Third at UAA Championships

UChicago women's swimming and diving achieved All-UAA distinction in three races and currently sits in third place at the 2017 UAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Senior Alison Wall was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.21. The women's 800-yard freestyle relay – sophomore Naomy Grand'Pierre, Wall, senior Cara LoPiano, sophomore Hannah Eastman – was also a second-place finisher in 7:35.45. The women's 200-yard medley relay captured third (1:44.49) with the quartet of junior Melissa Bischoff, sophomore Christina Cheng, freshman Nicole Garcia and senior Maya Scheidl.

Additionally, Maroon swimmers recorded four performances that were good enough to qualify for last year's NCAA Division III Championship meet:

  • Alison Wall (200-yard freestyle)
  • Maya Scheidl (200-yard freestyle)
  • Women's 200-yard medley relay
  • Women's 800-yard freestyle relay
