From University of Chicago Athletics

The University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team broke five school records on day two of the 2017 University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday.

The women's divers stood out as freshman Agnes Lo, sophomore Anna Girlich, junior Natalie DeMuro and junior Monica Kieff all set new personal best scores on the three-meter board. Lo blew away the competition with a winning score of 510.55, which set a new school record and topped the field by 43 points. Girlich was second with 467.20 points and was clear of the next finisher by 25 points. DeMuro's 434.80 points qualifies her for NCAA diving zones alongside Lo and Girlich.

The women's 200-yard freestyle relay took second place with the quartet of freshman Yifan Mao, senior Maya Scheidl, senior Alison Wall and senior Jessie Ho. Their time of 1:34.42 was a school record and surpassed the threshold for the 2016 NCAA qualifying mark for nationals.

Wall added to her All-UAA accolades with a third-place showing in the 200-yard IM in 2:04.88. She broke the school record in prelims with a 2:04.10, which also would be a 2016 NCAA qualifying mark.

The women's 400-yard medley relay was third (3:49.90) thanks to the efforts of junior Melissa Bischoff, sophomore Christina Cheng, senior Abby Erdmann and Scheidl. In the women's 500-yard freestyle, sophomore Hannah Eastman set a new school record in 4:58.40 (also a 2016 NCAA qualifying mark).
