Senior Bears Lead Washington University to Victory

The Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team enjoyed multiple victories to cap off the careers of its seniors at the I. E. Millstone Pool on Saturday afternoon against Western Illinois University.

The WashU women outscored WIU 192-101 with 11 first place finishes in 16 total events.

Seniors Lauren Carlos, MariMac Collins and Emily Ramos won multiple events for the Bears this weekend. Ramos competed in the Principia Diving Invitational on Friday and the dual meet at WashU on Saturday, winning the three-meter dive on Friday with a Championship and season-best 424.50 score before winning the one-meter dive on another season-best 252.75 score at WashU's dual meet on Saturday. Ramos had two NCAA "B" cut qualifying scores during her dives at Principia, including her one-meter score of 397.25.

Carlos and Collins both won two individual events while combining efforts with Nicole Zanolli and Alissa Ling during a first place 400 free relay time of 3:38.68. Carlos won the 50 free (25.02) and 100 butterfly (59.88). Collins was the leader in the 100 free (53.15) and 200 free (1:56.08). 

In addition, senior Erin Polries finished with a first place time for the women's team during the 1,000 free (10:57.36). Four senior members of the men's team were able to capture victories on their final meet in the home pool.
