A pair of New York University divers have earned berths at the NCAA Division III National Championships, which will be held Wed-Sat, March 21-24, in Indianapolis, IN.

On Saturday, at the NCAA Region 3 Diving Championships at Middlebury College, in Middlebury, VT, several Violets completed competition with both Connor Brisson and Carmen White officially earning spots at Nationals.

Brisson finished second in the one-meter dive after winning the three-meter competition on Friday. His score on Saturday of 539.90 fell just short of the 544.45 compiled by the winner, Sam Hoyt of Union College.

On the women's side, Carmen White led the way for the NYU women with a ninth-place finish (395.15 points) in the one-meter dive on Saturday. She earned a trip to Nationals with her third-place finish in the three-meter dive on Friday.

Also competing for NYU on Saturday was Nick Lemieux of the men's team, who finished 15th with a score of 388.45, and Ashlyn King of the women's team, who took 18th with a score of 367.55.

"Well, we were pretty good today, but at this meet we needed to be better," said Diving Coach Todd Kolean. "All the scoring was close and I was proud of the effort. I'm a little disappointed about only two qualifiers for the NCAA's, but overall I'm happy we have a terrific twosome heading out there."
