The New York University women's swimming & diving team returned to the pool for the first time in 2018 and defeated Long Island University-Post at the Palladium Athletic Facility on Friday, January 12.
The Violets (3-1) scored 123 points, while the Pioneers (3-1) finished with 83.
NYU's Sydney Catron won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.00, while Grace Wakabayashi claimed victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:42.32. In the 500-yard freestyle, Catron (5:06.97) and Wakabayashi (5:17.73) took first and second, respectively.
Catron was also a member of the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:39.13), which also included Joyce Lin, May Li and Sarah Stone.
Erica Yuen was yet another victorious Violet, winning the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 58.26.
"I was very happy with the team's performance tonight," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "They bounced back well from a tough week of training."
