NYU Completes Day Three at NCAA Championships in 10th Place

The New York University women's swimming & diving team completed day three of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday, March 23. The meet is being held in Indianapolis, IN, from Wednesday-Saturday, March 21-24.

The Violets are currently in 10th place out of 47 teams with 82 points. Emory University leads with 447 points.

May Li earned All-America honors with her seventh-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. She posted a time of 56.34.

"May really came through to earn her way into the finals," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "She worked hard on her underwater kicking all season and it paid off today."

The Violets' 800-yard freestyle relay established a new program record with its sixth-place time of 7:27.35. The foursome of Honore Collins, Grace Wakabayashi, Haley Wen, and Sydney Catron earned All-America honors for their effort.

"The ladies put together an amazing performance tonight," Miele added. "Honore got us off to a fast start and Sydney finished it off with a lifetime best. They crushed it." 

Collins, who took third in the 200-yard IM on Wednesday and 12th in the 400-yard IM on Thursday, took 18th in the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday with a time of 1:04.38.
