Seniors Laura Barber and Nicole Zanolli of the Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming & diving team were named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 5 Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Barber earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Swim & Dive National Championships during her senior season. During the 2017-18 campaign, she posted career-best marks in the one- and three-meter dives at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships. Barber scored 431.50 points in the one-meter and totaled 429.70 points in the three-meter dive. She placed in the top-five of both dives at the regional championships to qualify for nationals. The six-time UAA diver of the week studied mechanical engineering while maintaining a 3.90 grade point average.

Nicole Zanolli

Zanolli concluded her well decorated WashU career with 13 All-America finishes, six All-America honorable mentions, 15 all-UAA citations and a number of academic related accolades including the 2018 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. She capped her outstanding career with five All-America finishes at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swim & Dive National Championships. Zanolli earned an individual All-America honor in the 200 backstroke while setting the school record with a time of 1:59.76. She also helped set school records in the 200- and 400-medley relays at nationals this year with an eighth place finish in the 200 (1:43.22) and seventh place finish in the 400 (3:46.19). Zanolli majored in biology while sporting a 3.86 GPA.
