Junior Cindy Cheng won a pair of individual national championships, setting school records in both, and swam on three winning relays to help Emory University capture its eighth consecutive title at the 2017 NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. She finished first in the 100-yard backstroke (54.41 seconds) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.82), and third in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.62). Cheng swam on the 200-yard medley relay (1:40.83), 400-yard medley relay (3:39.57), and 800-yard freestyle relay (7:14.98). The Eagles’ times in the 400 medley and 800 freestyle relays broke NCAA Division III records.
