#28 Brandeis Tops #27 Wellesley, 6-3

No. 28 Brandeis University earned a 6-3 victory over No. 27 Wellesley College tennis on Friday evening at the 4th Annual Nor' easter Bowl at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse. Brandeis improves to 4-7 on the season with the victory, their third in a row. Wellesley drops to 10-5 with the setback. 

The Judges earned a pair of victories in doubles play to open the day, as junior Maya Vasser (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) and senior Dylan Schlesinger (Miami, Fla./Palmetto) defeated Wellesley's Caroline Hsu and Emily Olson by an 8-6 score in the number two match and sophomore Sarita Biswas (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) and rookie Charlotte Aaron (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) topped the Blue's pair of Samantha Stone and Dasha Kostikina, 8-4, at number three doubles. 

The Blue's number one doubles pairing of senior Sojung Lee and sophomore Carina Chen earned the victory in the top double's match with an 8-2 triumph over seniors Carley Cooke (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) and Simone Vandroff (Moss Beach, Calif./Half Moon Bay). 

Chen would move on to win a number two singles, topping Vandroff by a 7-6 (7), 6-2 count. In the top singles match, Cooke opened with a 6-1 victory before defeating Lee 7-5 in the second set to win the match. 

Wellesley also scored a victory in the number five singles match-up, as first year Emily Olson cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over rookie Danielle Simms (Chattanooga, Tenn./Girls Prep). 

Brandeis took the remaining matches on the evening, with junior Emily Eska (Princeton, Mass./Wachusett Regional) defeating Hsu at number three (6-2, 6-1), Vasser winning at number four (7-5, 6-1) over Stone, and Aaron topping Kostikina 7-6 (1), 6-2 to close out the match.
