The New York University women's tennis team competed at the
Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional
Championships on Sunday, September 28, in Geneva, NY.
In doubles, the pair of Laila El
Dessouki and Carmen Lai continued
their winning ways. The duo won their quarterfinals match 8-4 and
then earned an 8-5 victory in the semifinals to qualify for the
finals match on Monday.
In singles, Madeline King and Alison
Wang were both ousted in the round of 16.
"Both singles matches were competitive and King and Wang played
well despite slow starts," said Head Coach Horace
Choy. "El Dessouki and Lai played extremely well in both
matches. They came out quickly and held their leads throughout.
They look forward to competing in the finals tomorrow."
