Carmen Lai of the New York University women's tennis team was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Player of the Week on Wednesday, April 8, after posting a flawless record against the Stevens Institute of Technology last week.

On Wednesday, April 1, Lai paired with Laila El Dessouki to defeat Stevens' top doubles team by a score of 9-8 (5). Lai followed that up with a straight-set (6-1, 6-2) victory at #1 singles.

Lai is now a perfect 8-0 in her matches this spring. She is 4-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles with partner El Dessouki.

It is the second ECAC weekly honor in the Hong Kong native's career. She has also received a University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honor this season.
