The New York University women's tennis team completed play at
the NYS Division III Championships on Sunday, October 12, in
Ithaca, NY.
Junior Madeline King was the remaining Violet
still partcipating during Sunday's third and final day of
competition.
Having advanced to the #3 singles final, King was facing Emily
Hallewell of Vassar College.
In a tight first set, Hallewell outlasted King 6-4.
However, the second set was not as close, as Hallewell captured the
title with a 6-1 win.
"Madeline had a tough first set. She really fought hard," said
Assistant Coach Christina Thiele. "her opponent picked up her game
in the second set and earned the win."
There was no team scoring at the championships.
The Fall portion of the Violets' 2014-15 season is now
complete.
