The New York University women's tennis team completed day
one of competition at the Vassar College Invitational on Saturday,
September 20, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
The Violets faced off against Vassar College and Connecticut
College in both singles and doubles play.
NYU split its four doubles matches and went 8-13 in
singles.
Highlights:
- Junior Madeline King went
2-0 in singles, winning by the scores of 6-2, 6-3 and 6-0,
6-1.
- Sophomore Laila El
Dessouki won her two matches 6-0, 6-3 and 6-0,
6-1.
- Junior Jazmin
Colling went 2-1 in combined singles and doubles
play. She won her singles match 8-2 then paired up
with Alexandra Ziarko to win in
doubles 8-6.
