Chicago Completes Final Day of Chicago State Invitational

From University of Chicago Athletics

The University of Chicago women's tennis team finished off the three-day Chicago State University Invitational on Sunday with 12 combined victories.

On the day, the Maroons went 8-2 in singles play and 4-1 in doubles action. Senior Megan Tang, senior Maggie Schumann, junior Stephanie Lee, sophomore Laura Anderson, freshman Ariana Iranpour and freshman Jasmine Lee were all victorious in both singles and doubles.

"The team took a huge step forward in our maturity today as we were able to close out the same matches we dropped yesterday," said Head Coach Jay Tee. "We looked focused and confident during the big points and were rewarded with several great wins. Our doubles was also much improved as we made a point to be more aggressive today. Overall, this tournament was very beneficial for our growth and our confidence as we play against our peers next weekend in Kalamazoo. We are all ready to get back to work and to continue to improve next week."
