Rochester's Cara Genbauffe Wins B Flight at William Smith

GENEVA, NY- Senior Cara Genbauffe started off the 2014-15 season strong by capturing the B flight singles title at the Mary Hosking Invitational hosted by William Smith College.
 
Genbauffe topped St. Lawrence's Morgan McNeal 9-8 in the title match after defeating teammate Molly Goodman 6-1 in the semifinals.  In the finals, the Yellowjacket senior made a tremendous rally from being down 7-3 in the super set format (play to 8).
 
In the D flight bracket, both senior Emily DePerrior and junior Leah Bowden reached the semifinals after solid play on Friday, but lost on Saturday ending their run in the main draw.
 
In A singles, Christine Ho faced off against Olivia Arroyo of St. Lawrence in the semifinals, losing 8-6 in a tight match.
 
Freshman Alex Wolkoff was an 8-0 winner for the Yellowjackets in the B flight consolation matches.
 
Sophomore Darby McCall and freshman Karianne Sretavan went 2-0 on Friday reaching the semifinals of the B flight doubles bracket, but lost 8-3 in their first match on Saturday to be eliminated.
