Molly Goodman, Alex Wolkoff are Double Winners vs. Geneseo

The University of Rochester women's tennis team got its record within one game of .500 on the season after a strong 7-2 victory over SUNY Geneseo on Thursday evening at the Mendon Racquet Club.
 
The Yellowjackets (5-6) got double-winner performances from Molly Goodman and Alex Wolkoff in the matchup of regionally ranked teams.  UR just entered the Northeast region poll at the #17 spot while the Knights (11-3) sat at #19.
 
Geneseo would take the first point of the match at 1st doubles with an 8-3 win from Marylen Santos and Minxuan Yuan.  That pair defeated Rochester Cara Genbauffe and Christine Ho.  Rochester would respond by taking the other two doubles matches to head into singles with a 2-1 lead.  Goodman and Dorothy Tai won 8-3 over Cat Crummey and Amanda Rosati at #2 while Lauren Zickar and Wolkoff eked out a 9-8 (5) win over Mai Hashimoto and Anika Pornpitaksuk at #3.
 
In singles, Crummey evened the score at 2-2 for the Knights with a 6-0, 6-3 win at #2 over Tai.
 
Rochester's Ho (#1), Genbauffe (#3) and McCall (#6) would then rattle of three straight wins, two coming in three setters to earn the match win.  Ho defeated Santos 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 while Genbauffe won 6-4, 6-1 over Rosati.  McCall earned the clincher winning 7-6 (1), 2-6, 10-6 over Yuan.
 
Rounding out the match, Wolkoff (#5) and Goodman (#6) earned their second wins of the day winning 6-4, 7-5 and 7-5, 6-2 respectively.  Wolkoff topped Hashimoto while Goodman defeated Dexuan Yuan.
