Successful Senior Day For Yellowjackets, Win 9-0 over RIT

The University of Rochester women's tennis team sent out its two seniors in style, winning 9-0 over visiting Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday evening at the Lyman Tennis Center.
 
Seniors Cara Genbauffe and Emily DePerrior each played on Friday and emerged victorious in their final home match, with Genbauffe winning two matches, one of four double-winners for UR on the day.
 
Rochester completes its regular season with an 8-7 record while the Tigers fall to 4-9 and have one match remaining in their season.
 
Genbauffe teamed with Christine Ho at 1st doubles while Molly Goodman paired with Dorothy Tai to complete UR's 2nd doubles team.  DePerrior paired with Mariana Flores Kim at 3rd doubles.  UR would sweep through those matches winning 8-0 and 1st and 2nd and 8-5 at the 3rd position.
 
In singles, the UR lineup continued its strong play, winning all six matches in straight sets.  Ho was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at #1 while Tai didn't drop a game at #2, winning 6-0, 6-0.  Goodman also was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at the 4th spot and Darby McCall impressed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6.
 
Rounding out the match, Alex Wolkoff won 6-1, 6-3 in the #5 spot and Genbauffe completed the sweep with a win at #3 singles 6-4, 6-3.
 
Rochester will next compete at the UAA Championships in Altamonte Springs, Florida against some of the top Division III teams in the nation.  The tournament runs next week from April 23-25.
