From Washington University Athletics
In a match that lasted more than 10 hours due to rain delays, the No. 11-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over No. 27 Brandeis University in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Quarterfinal Thursday.
WashU swept doubles before rain forced delays totaling nearly five hours. When the teams were finally able to get back on the courts, junior Aly Coran and freshman Grace Deering swept their singles matches to seal the victory for the Bears.
WashU won its 11th straight match to improve to 17-4 on the season, while Brandeis dropped to 10-9. The Bears advanced to the UAA Semifinal for the fifth year in a row, and will take on No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University at 2 p.m. (ET) Friday.
