CWRU Ranked 20th in Oracle/ITA Fall Rankings

The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team was ranked 20th in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Fall National Rankings, released on Tuesday afternoon.

In addition, a pair of Spartans were featured in the national singles rankings.  Sophomore Nithya Kanagasegar, who advanced to the championships of ITA Fall Central Regional Championships, will enter the spring as the 15th-ranked player in Division III.  Freshman Jessica Liu, who fell to Kanagasegar in the quarterfinals of the tournament, is ranked 44th in the national poll.

In the national doubles poll, Kanagasegar and senior Sara Zargham are ranked 18th in Division III to end the fall.  The duo advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Central Region Championships in early October.

The Spartans were also ranked fourth in the first Central Region poll, with Kanagasegar checking in at third and Liu at 11th.  Kanagasegar and Zargham are also the fifth-ranked doubles pairing in the region entering the spring.
