Spartans Run Record to 5-0 With Win at Rochester

The 20th-ranked Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team won its fifth-straight match to start the spring season, defeating the University of Rochester 7-2 on Sunday in Rochester, New York.

The Spartans claimed wins at two of the three doubles matches, with an 8-4 victory at second doubles from senior Michelle Djohan and junior Jennifer Lowe, and an 8-2 victory at third doubles from freshman Jessica Liu and sophomore Peyton Young.  The team's lone doubles setback came in the first match, where seniors Taylor Sweeney and Surya Khadilkar dropped an 8-6 match.

Case Western Reserve continued to roll in singles play, with a 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles from Liu, a 6-1, 6-3 victory at third singles from Djohan, a 6-0, 6-0 win from Khadilkar at fourth singles, a 6-3, 6-4 triumph from Young at fifth singles, and a 6-0, 6-2 win at sixth singles from junior Kennedy Mulholland.  Sweeney suffered a close loss at first singles, losing in three sets, 2-6, 6-2, 11-9.
