Emory Defeats CMS, 5-0, for Eighth Consecutive Win

The fourth-ranked Emory University women's tennis program ran its match winning streak to eight on Saturday as the Eagles shut out #5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 5-0. Emory during the streak have now outscored opponents 63-3 and have not dropped a match since March 5th against Division I Northern Arizona.

In doubles play, the Eagles no.1 duo of sophomore Anna Fuhr and freshman Daniela Lopez were victorious 8-0 for the pair's team-leading seventh consecutive doubles win. On the third doubles court, juniors Michelle Satterfield and Paula Castro won their sixth match in a row by an 8-2 margin while junior Katarina Su and sophomore Bridget Harding also won 8-2 to move to 12-6 as a team this season with their fourth straight doubles win.

The Eagles earned two singles points thanks to Harding and senior Beatrice Rosen which clinched the match for Emory. Harding won the no.1 singles point 6-2, 6-2 with Rosen picking up the win on the no.4 singles court 6-0, 6-4. Satterfield was leading her match 6-4, 2-2 and freshman Taylor Cosme was winning on court three 6-4, 2-1 before both matches were halted.

Emory will be back in action on Wednesday, March 30th with a meeting with #1 Williams College at 3:00 PM on the Woodruff PE Center outdoor courts. The match will be a rematch of last year's National Championship and before the start of the match the Eagles will honor the senior class of Rosen, Madison Gordon, Stephanie Loutsenko and Marissa Levine.

Senior Beatrice Rosen moved into a tie for 11th place all-time with her 73rd career singles victory on Saturday.
