The Emory University women's tennis team took some time last week to give back to the community as the members of the team visited with families of the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta.
Last Tuesday, November 3rd, the players and Swoop baked four large lasagnas for the families staying at the house. A couple of players also spent time visiting the transplant floor. Here, patients receiving treatment usually aren't able to leave their rooms so Swoop and some players went up there to toss the tennis ball around and talk about what it's like to play tennis on a team.
"I'm continually impressed by the outstanding character of the student-athletes on my team," said Head Coach Amy Bryant. "They make time to give back to our community in spite of the pressing demands of being a student-athlete at Emory."
The second-ranked Eagles return to the courts on February 13th for the start of the spring season against Sewanee and Washington.
