#1 Eagles Selected to NCAA Championships; Will Play Opening Rounds at Washington & Lee

The Emory University women's tennis team, ranked No.1 in the last three ITA national polls, will be making its 32nd-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament as the women's draw was released on Monday afternoon. The Eagles have received a first-round bye in the tournament and will head to Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA for their second and third round matches.

Emory will play the winner of Friday's match between Methodist (19-2) and John Carroll (16-3) in the second round on Saturday, May 14th. On the other side of the draw, Westminster (PA) (13-5) squares off against Hanover College (14-3) with the winner to play host and 15th-ranked Washington & Lee (18-5).

The two Saturday victors will face off on Sunday, May 15th for the right to go to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals held in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 23rd.

The Eagles received an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship Field after winning their 27th University Athletic Association Championship in 29 years on April 24th, and will enter the tournament with a 23-5 overall record, including a 17-1 mark against Division III opposition this season.
