The University of Chicago women's tennis team scored an upset victory over its conference rival Washington University-St. Louis by a 6-3 margin on Saturday.

The No. 15-ranked Maroons won their fourth in-a-row to improve to 9-3. UChicago has now defeated six of the seven nationally-ranked opponents it has faced this season. The No. 9-ranked Bears dropped to 11-7.

WashU's Rebecca Ho and Lisa Chionis accounted for all three team points by the Bears. The duo won at No. 2 doubles and at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, respectively. After that, it was all Maroons.

The home side went up 2-1 after doubles and put up four quick points in singles to end the contest. Three of the wins featured less than four games allowed in straight-set triumphs. Freshman Kaela Bynoe shut out her opponent at No. 4 with scores of 6-0, 6-0. Junior Tiffany Chen took the No. 5 spot 6-0, 6-2 and freshman Rachel Kim won at No. 2 with matching 6-2, 6-2 scores.
