Washington University to Host NCAA Regional May 12-14

The No. 10-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team will host the St. Louis Regional of the 2016 NCAA Division III Championship Thursday-Saturday, May 12-14, at Tao Tennis Center on the WashU campus.

This marks the third time in last four seasons and the fourth time in school history WashU will host regional play.

Coe College (15-10) and Grinnell College (15-8) meet Thursday at 9 a.m. in the first round, followed by No. 22 Denison University (14-7) and Concordia University (Wis.) (21-6) at Noon.

The winner of Coe and Grinnell takes on No. 12 Sewanee: University of the South (21-5) Friday at 9 a.m. in the second round, followed by the winner of Denison and Concordia against WashU (15-8) at Noon.

The winners will meet in the Regional Championship match Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Bears are making their 17th overall NCAA Championship appearance and ninth in a row. WashU has an all-time record of 11-16 (.407) in the NCAA tournament. The Bears have advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals three times in school history.

Kalamazoo College will host the 2016 NCAA Division III Team Championship Monday-Wednesday, May 23-25, at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich. The NCAA Individual Championships are scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, May 26-28. Student-athletes selected to compete in the individual championships will be announced Wednesday, May 11.
