From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics
The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team placed fifth in a field of nine at the New York University Fall Invitational on Sunday, October 16. The Tartans carded a 341 on Sunday to finish the two-day, 36-hole event with a 675. Williams College won the invitational with a 637 (321-316) which was held at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
Freshmen Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) led the Tartans, as both carded a 168 over the two days which tied them for 17th-place in a field of 56 golfers. Lui posted rounds of 87 and 81 while Davis shot an 82 Saturday and an 86 Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) carded a 169 (80-89) while junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) fired a 170 after shooting back-to-back rounds of 85. Junior Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill.) finished play with a 176 (87-89)
The Tartans had two individuals enter the invitational, as junior Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) shot a 180 (91-89) and classmate Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) carded a 194 (98-96).
