All Emory Semifinals Set in Singles; Harding/Su to meet Lopez/Satterfield in Doubles Final

It will be an Eagles-filled day on Sunday at the ITA Fall South Regional Championships presented by Oracle as four Emory University Women's Tennis players advanced to the semifinals in the singles draw and two doubles pairings will meet in the championship match after winning two matches apiece on Saturday afternoon at the Woodruff PE Center.

In singles action, junior Bridget Harding will matchup against senior Katarina Su in one semifinal match on Sunday. Harding defeated a pair of Sewanee Tigers, Ellie Czura (6-2, 6-2) and Darby Duval (6-1, 6-0) while Su knocked off Centre's Aliza Williams (6-1, 6-0) and Birmingham-Southern's Carlee Petro (6-1, 6-0). In the other semifinal match, it will be senior Michelle Satterfield pitted against sophomore Daniela Lopez. Satterfield bested Oglethorpe's Taylor Cranford (6-0, 6-2) and Centre's Neha Rao (6-4, 6-2) while Lopez beat Sewanee's Maggie Crumbliss 6-2, 6-1 before ousting teammate senior Paula Castro in the quarterfinals by a score of 6-4, 6-1.

In the doubles competition, Harding and Su advanced to the finals for the second straight year and will face Lopez and Satterfield on Sunday. Harding and Su paved their way to the championship match with a pair of 8-0 victories over Sewanee's Crumbliss and Haley Tucker and Oglethorpe's Hannah Dattilo and Caroline Johnson. Lopez and Satterfield reached the finals by virtue of two wins over Sewanee's Mary Jane McCaghren and Taylor Sprouse (8-0) and an 8-2 victory over teammates senior Michelle DeMeo and freshman Emma Perelman in the semifinals. DeMeo and Perelman advanced to the final four following a tight 8-6 decision over Birmingham-Southern's Virginia Hammond and Carlee Petro.

Semifinals of the singles draw begin at 9:00 am at the Woodruff PE Center with the championship match to follow at noon. The doubles final is schedule to take place following the conclusion of the singles title match.
