From NYU Athletics

The New York University women's tennis team completed its second and final day of play at the Vassar College Scramble on Sunday, September 18, in Poughkeepsie, NY.

The Violets went 7-2 in doubles play, which took place indoors, against Vassar College, Connecticut College and SUNY New Paltz. Singles play was cancelled due to rain.

Leading the way for the Violets were sophomore Alice McGinty and freshman Rupa Ganesh, who went 3-0 on Sunday as a doubles team.

"Alice and Rupa continued their strong play from yesterday," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

- Sophomore Flyora Shiyanova (3-0) and freshman Nikki Ong (2-0) went undefeated on the day, as well. The two players won both of their matches as a doubles team, and Shiyanova won an additional tilt with senior Laila El Dessouki.

"Playing indoors was a bit of an adjustment, but we played very well and had some good results," added Choy.
