No. 11 Washington University Back to NCAA Quarterfinals for Second Consecutive Year

The No. 11-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team posted a 5-3 win over No. 21 Hope College Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship for the second-straight year and fifth time in school history.

WashU improved to 14-10 with the win, while Hope had its 11-match winning streak come to an end and finished the season with a 21-4 mark.

"I am so happy and proud of our Bears!  We battled, competed, supported, cheered and dug deep to win this regional. We were ready and we had been tested so we knew would could pull from that experience from our past tough matches, said 12th-year head coach Kelly Stahlhuth. "We believed in ourselves which was the key! What a great group of scholar-champions.  It has been an honor and privilege to take this adventure with them, and this adventure is still going!"
