Washington University to Play For ITA Central Region Singles and Doubles Titles

Washington University in St. Louis senior Rebecca Ho advanced to the championship match in singles and doubles Sunday at the 2016 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional held at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Ho, the top-seed in singles, ousted No. 6 Rachel Kim of the University of Chicago 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals and No. 4 seed Lauren Hawley of Denison University 6-0, 6-3 in the semifinals. She will take on Chicago freshman and No. 9 seed Majorie Antohi in the final at 11 a.m. (ET).

In doubles, Ho and senior Kaylan Griffith recorded an 8-4 win over No. 9 Tiffany Chen and Ariana Iranpour of Chicago in the quarterfinals and an 8-5 victory over No. 4 seed Emma Alsup and Hawley from Denison in the semifinals. The duo takes on No. 9 seed Estefania Navarro and Antohi of Chicago in the final at 9 am. (ET).

With the four victories Sunday, Ho moved into a tie for third on the all-time WashU wins list with 145. She is the defending ITA Central Region champion in doubles and also won the 2014 ITA Central Region Singles titles.
