Top-Ranked Eagles Celebrate Senior Day With 9-0 Victory Over DePauw

The top-ranked Emory University Women's Tennis team made quick work of DePauw University on Saturday morning, blanking the Tigers by a score of 9-0 in Atlanta.

Prior to the start of the match, the Eagles honored their two seniors, Anna Fuhr and Bridget Harding, with a special on-court ceremony.

Emory, as a team, dropped just three games total in doubles as the Eagles opened the match in dominating fashion. Harding and freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico remained unbeaten in the spring, winning their 11th straight match, taking first doubles by an 8-1 count. On court two, Fuhr and freshman Stephanie Taylor coasted to the 8-0 win while junior Daniela Lopez and freshman Katie Chang registered the 8-2 victory on court three.

In singles, the Eagles recorded all six wins via straight sets to complete the shutout. At first singles, Gonzalez-Rico won her team-leading 24th match of the season, downing Colleen Morris 6-1, 6-2. On court two, Harding collected her 99th career singles victory as she defeated Ali Bush 6-1, 6-0. Lopez and sophomore Emma Perelman turned in identical 6-2, 6-1 decisions at third and fifth singles while Chang breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
