Emory Women's Tennis Continues "It's On Us" Campaign

From Emory University Athletics

The Emory University Women's Tennis team has continued its "It's On Us" campaign to help stop sexual assault this academic year as part of the team's annual service project.

"It's On Us" is national campaign that focuses on encouraging bystander intervention and building a campus culture that makes sexual assault unacceptable. The program is designed to bring the campus community – not just potential victims and attackers, but their classmates, peers, professors and friends – into the conversation, giving them a shared sense of responsibility for improving attitudes toward sexual violence.

"As leaders on campus, we want to emphasize that Emory student-athletes are committed to being a part of the solution rather than the problem by utilizing and promoting the It's On Us national campaign" Student-Athlete Advisory Committee co-president and Emory Women's Tennis senior Anna Fuhr said.

The Women's Tennis team has helped raise awareness around campus this year in various different forms including handing out computer stickers with "It's On Us" logo and asking members of the student body including other student-athletes on Wonderful Wednesday during DIII week earlier this month to take the pledge to help stop sexual assault.
