Maroons Top Washington University For Second Time in a Week

For the second time in a week, the University of Chicago women's tennis teams defeated Washington University on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday turned into a battle as the team score was tied 4-4 with only No. 4 singles remaining. In the third-set super tiebreak, sophomore Estefania Navarro topped her opponent 10-8 to clinch the 5-4 win.

Earlier in the match, Navarro teamed with sophomore Alyssa Rudin to win 8-3 at No. 3 doubles. The No. 2 doubles pairing of first-years Catherine Xu and Daryn Ellison also emerged with an 8-4 victory. Singles play saw a trio of three-set triumphs from sophomore Marjorie Antohi at No. 2, Rudin at No. 5 and Navarro. All told, five of the six singles matches went to third sets.
