The University of Rochester women's tennis team competed on day two of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday at Skidmore College.
UR unfortunately couldn't back up a strong opening day, dropping out of both main draws that it was still in following Friday's opening day of play.
Junior Camila Garcia was beaten in the third round of singles play by NYU's Anna Maria Buraya in straight sets 6-0, 6-3.
Garcia tried to bounce back in the doubles draw quarterfinals with sophomore teammate Sravya Gudipudi, but the Yellowjacket duo were beaten by Ada Wiggins and Michelle Fuca from Skidmore.
In consolation bracket action, Alex Wolkoff won her opening round match in singles over Kathryn Shaffer of Ithaca College, 8-3. Teammate Abbey Reinhart was outsted in her first consolation match by Natalia Pezzuco of Union 8-3. In doubles, Wolkoff and Reinhart paired together and won 8-1 in the opening round over Ines Ayara and Ndanu Mutisya of Hamilton.
