Bears' Grace Deering and Ally Persky Earn ITA All-America Honors

Washington University in St. Louis senior Grace Deering and freshman Ally Persky were named to the 2018 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's All-America Team, as announced Wednesday by the organization.

Deering and Persky earned All-America honors in doubles after winning the 2017 USTA/ITA Central Region Championship in the fall. The duo placed sixth at the ITA Oracle Cup in October and was also selected as the first alternate at the 2018 NCAA Division III Doubles Championship in May. 

Deering and Persky ended their season with a 19-11 record and were ranked No. 17 in the final Oracle/ITA Division III doubles rankings.

Deering concluded her senior year with a 31-22 overall record, and was ranked No. 29 in the final Oracle/ITA Division III singles rankings. She ranks sixth in school history with 134 career wins.

Head coach Kelly Stahlhuth, the 2018 ITA Central Region Coach of the Year, guided WashU to a 13-8 overall record in 2017-18 and an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
