From Washington University Athletics

Washington University in St. Louis senior Anna Etherington was selected as the NCAA Division III National Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as announced by the organization.

Etherington posted the top mark in NCAA Division III this season in winning the women's pole vault with a clearance of 4.11 meters at the North Central College Gregory Final Qualifier Friday in Naperville, Ill. She broke her own school record in the event with a clearance of 4.06m, before clearing 4.11m on her second attempt to move to the top of this season's national leaderboard.

Etherington, who also earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season, ranks fourth on the NCAA Division III all-time outdoor pole vault list with her new career-best. Both of her top vaults Friday (4.06m, 4.11m) are higher than any other mark in NCAA Division III this season heading into the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday-Saturday in Delaware, Ohio.
