The NYU women's track & field team, as well as five individual student-athletes, have received All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Emily Cousens, Lydia Guo,Sarah
Sisk, Caroline Spring, and Drew
Washington received the honor.
A total of 158 women's teams earned the All-Academic distinction as
a result of earning a cumulative team grade point average of 3.10
or higher. The NYU women posted an overall GPA of 3.57.
To earn individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the
student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average
of at least 3.30 and have either competed at the NCAA Indoor or
Outdoor Championships or finished the regular season ranked in the
national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national
top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA
POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
Cousens graduated this past spring as the NYU record-holder in four
events, including the indoor 3,000m which she set this season. Guo,
Spring, Sisk, and Washington combined to set the outdoor 4x400m and
sprint medley relay records this season, with Spring and Sisk
establishing individual records in the 500m and 800m,
respectively.
"Each of these student athletes had record-breaking seasons on the
track, while continuing to excel in the classroom," noted Head
Coach Nick McDonough.
